Series 1-2 of record group 66-76 consist of two sets of records of the Michigan Department of Conservation, Fish Division relating to fishing laws and regulations. The first set of records is the Digest of fishing laws in Michigan (1921-1967). These are printed regulations on taking of fish in all Michigan waters. Includes species, season number, size, right of possession, specific regulation, license fees, general provisions, and name and location of stream open or closed to fishing for certain species. Digests for 1921-24 include general laws regulating game. The second set of records is a history of Michigan fishing regulations (1919-1933), prepared by a Works Project Administration project sometime in the 1930's. Includes table of contents and memoranda from M.J. DeBoer.

The 1925 Clark-McNary Act expanded the provisions of 1911 Federal legislation creating the National Forest System (Weeks Law).
